About Us

Who We Are

Canberra Blockchain Centre (CBC) was founded in 2017 as a not-for-profit organization with a mission to provide free education and resources to the Canberra community. Inspired by the innovation, technology, and vibrant community of blockchain, we aim to make this transformative technology accessible and impactful for everyone.

Our mission is to empower the Canberra community by offering free education about blockchain technology. Through accessible workshops, meetups, and events, we aim to bridge the gap between blockchain technology and its real-world applications.

We are proud to announce the launch of our new space at Joplin Lane, Australian National University in February 2025. This dedicated hub will serve as a place for the community, businesses, and blockchain projects to connect, collaborate, and innovate. Whether casual or professional, our meetups provide a platform to learn, share ideas, and build meaningful relationships. Before the new space is up and running we are still organising casual meetups.

  • Workshops and Education: Hands-on sessions on setting up hardware wallets, running Bitcoin nodes, Nostr nodes, and staking nodes for different protocols.

  • Community Events: Casual and professional meetups, providing a platform for project introductions, technology demonstrations, and networking.
  • Hackathons and Conferences: Plans are underway to host our second blockchain conference and hackathon, fostering innovation and collaboration.
